God’s Awesome Power in Creation
Reading My Bible
Did God rest because He was tired?
Read Genesis chapter 1 again.
When God looked over all that He had created, He said it was very good. He was finished so He rested. Exodus 20:11 says, “For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea and all that is in them, but He rested on the seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy.”
God rested or stopped because His creation was finished. He was giving us an example. God wants us to rest on the Sabbath day too and to keep it special. We need to keep Sunday as a special day, when we can praise and worship God.
