Today read Genesis 2:4-20

God planted a garden for Adam to live in. The garden was full of plants and trees that Adam and the animals could eat. There were two special trees in the garden. One was the Tree of Life, by eating the fruit from that tree Adam would live forever. His body would never get worn out or sick and die. The other special tree was the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil. God told Adam not to eat the fruit from that tree. God said, in verse 16 and 17, “when you eat from that tree, you will die”.

God gave Adam the responsibility of looking after all of the plants and the wildlife that God had created. As God brought the animals to Adam to be named he noticed that each one had a partner, but there wasn’t one for Adam. Today you could make a picture of the garden and the special trees for you notebook.
