God’s Awesome Power in Creation

Did sin make a difference on the earth?

Reading My Bible

Read Genesis 3:7-13

Adam and Eve ate the fruit of the tree that God had told them not to eat from. Right away Adam and Eve felt different. They were embarrassed about not wearing clothes and made coverings out of leaves. Right away they knew that they had done wrong – they heard God walking in the garden and they hid from Him.

Adam and Eve were the first people to sin, but the Bible says in Romans 3:23, “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God”. Each and every person sins, we don’t measure up to God’s perfection.

I know that that is true about me. Is it true about you too? Yes, you can probably think of many things that you have thought, or said, or done that breaks God’s laws. We cannot hide our sin from God. Just like Adam and Eve though, we often try.

Make a secret list for your notebook of the things that you can remember that you have done to break God’s laws.

Talking to God

Dear God, I know that I have done many things that you didn’t want me to do. Please help me to learn more about you so that I can stay away from sin. In Jesus’ Name. Amen
