Week 3: Day 7

Wise or Foolish

Wisdom Works

Reading My Bible

Today read James 3:13-18 and James 4:1-3

The Lord Jesus was wise and the people could see that His life was different. The Lord Jesus always made the best choice about how to spend His time on earth. Verse 13 says, "Who is wise and understanding among you? Let him show it by his good life, by deeds done in the humility that comes from wisdom." People loved the Lord Jesus and thousands gathered to hear Him teach and to see Him heal the sick. Did that mean that every one liked the Lord Jesus? No, you know that some people hated the Lord Jesus because He was so good. Others hated Him because He told the truth about being the Son of God. Some people hated the Lord Jesus so much that they planned to kill Him.

No matter what people think of you, you also need to choose to do what is right. That is living wisely. Read more about living wisely in 1 John 3:1-10

Remembering What I Read

Divide one page of your notebook into two sections, right down the middle. At the top of one side write the word ‘Wise' and on the other side write ‘Foolish'. Use today's verses to list the things that are wise and foolish on your page.

Talking to God

Dear God. Thank you for helping me to grow and to learn to be wise. Please help me to live so that other people can see the things that please You. In Jesus' Name. Amen.
