Reading My Bible

Read Luke 4:2-13 today.

The Lord Jesus was born and grew up, but right from the beginning He was different from every other child that was ever born. The Lord Jesus never thought or said or did anything that would break God’s laws. Never! Even though He was tempted to do wrong, He never did. The Bible says, “He appeared so that He might take away our sins. And in Him is no sin.”

In the verses that we read today Satan tempted the Lord Jesus 3 times. Each time the Lord Jesus refused to break God’s law, instead He used words from the Bible to tell Satan that it would be wrong to do what Satan wanted Him to do. When you are tempted to do wrong, the Bible verses that you read will help you to know when something is wrong. You and I will never be able to stop sinning completely like the Lord Jesus, because He is God. You and I can try to make better choices though, and to try to please God with our lives.
