How can something be happy and sad at the same time?

Read Isaiah 53: 1-6

These are very sad verses aren’t they? These verses are talking about how the Lord Jesus would come to earth and bleed and die in our place. We are the ones who deserve the consequences for breaking God’s laws, but God doesn’t want to punish us. The Lord Jesus took our punishment when He bled and died. Verse 6 is my favourite, it says, “We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to his own way; and the Lord has laid on Him the iniquity of us all.” Wow! The Lord Jesus did that for you and for me. These verses can make you sad, to know what the Lord Jesus did for you, and they can make you happy if you have received God’s forgiveness for sin. Have you ever said thank you to God for sending His own Son to do that for you? Make a list for your notebook of how you can live for God everyday.

Talking To God

Dear God, thank you so much for coming to earth as the Lord Jesus. Thank you for bleeding and dieing on the cross. Please help me to live for you from now on. In Jesus’ Name. Amen
